This is the raw image from the digital camera.  Notice that the mirror and other content in the periphery.  This image is actually much larger than it needs to be for the internet  This leaves a lot of room to be cropped down to just what we want to show in the final picture.
Raw Image
In this image I cropped the image down to 350 x 350 pixels.  I like square pictures because they fill in the eBay gallery image the best.  Rectangular pictures in the square gallery box will show up smaller than a square picture because the long side of the rectangle gets sized down to the gallery box
Initial Cropping
The picture has now been automatically color enhanced using a special PhotoImpact color enhancer tool and brightened using the contrast tool.  Any time you make an enhancement that does not improve the image you simply click the Ctrl key at the same time as the Z key and the last action gets undone.
Color and Contrast Enhancement

Finally, the image is cut, resized smaller, and given a soft edge.  PhotoImpact has a tool for decreasing the image file size where you decide how much it can be decreased without losing quality.

This makes a nice professional presentation.  It takes less than 5 minutes once you learn the tools in PhotoImpact.
