Finding The Right Domain For Your New Website

Are you ready to start a website but all the good names seem to be taken?  Well that may not be completely accurate.  While many of the good domains have already been registered that does not mean they are already being used.

There is a thriving market for domain speculation and the name you want may simply be registered but still available for purchase.  This is not to be confused with cybersquatting where people register other people’s trademarked names.  Speculation is where someone thinks up an interesting name such as AQTPI.com (A Cutie Pie) and registers the name hoping to find someone who likes the name and is willing to pay a small premium for the domain.  Click here for full article.

Graduated Law School

Well I finally did it, I graduated law school and took the Illinois Bar.  Now I wait for the results.  Passing is generally 60% or above for the raw score so it is difficult to know how I did.  How comfortable would you be walking out of an exam and getting 65% correct?  It is really a big mind game.

I will start writing more about legal issues now like warranties and disclaimer of liability issues.

Become an Undeterred Advertiser

The key to ongoing success in retail is targeted and constant advertising. After the initial choices of location and product selection have been made, advertising is the fuel that keeps the system powered.  Once you figure out what works to drive profitable traffic then you own your destiny. Until then you are just floating on the surface hoping the waves will take you where you want to go.

Think about the market leaders around you.  They are the packaging company or parts supplier who doggedly send out catalogs on a regular basis.  They are the bathroom renovation company who advertise month after month in the coupon book or the local newspaper.

If there was one place I would recommend a retailer focus his attention and redouble her efforts, it would be on implementing an effective marketing strategy.  Once the strategy is chosen it takes nerves of steel to stay the course because often the results are cumulative and not immediate.

Search Engine Optimization for E-commerce
Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is the process of proving to the various search engines that a particular page on your site is relevant for a particular keyword or set of keywords that a user of the search engine might type in to find your page. While you may know that your page on French Horns is highly relevant, there are 100,000 other sites selling, describing the history of, or tutoring people in the use of French Horns. To get your site to the first few pages for this search term requires that you follow the rules set by the search engines BETTER than these 100,000 other sites.

How High Should The Debt Ceiling Be Raised?

The debt ceiling has once again been breached and the defenders of fiscal irresponsibility are once again out in force telling us that it does not matter because the economy can handle it.  The debt does matter and only those who understand it can protect their savings from the impending revaluation of the currency that our out of control debt will eventually require.
